Ingredients
- 200 grams Masa for tortillas (Masa Harina)
- 150 ml Warm water
- 1 pinch Salt
- 200 grams Beef steak (flank or skirt steak)
- ½ piece White onion
- 1 clove Garlic
- 1 tablespoons Neutral vegetable oil
- 100 grams Refried beans
- 80 grams Oaxaca cheese (Quesillo)
- ½ piece Romaine lettuce
- ½ piece Red tomato
- 30 ml Mexican crema
- ½ piece Serrano pepper (optional)
Directions
- Knead the masa for huaraches with Masa Harina, salt, and warm water until a smooth consistency is achieved. Form two oval discs, 1 cm thick, creating a slight border.
- Cook the huaraches on a hot griddle for 4-5 minutes per side, until golden brown.
- Cut the steak into thin strips. Sauté chopped onion and garlic in hot oil. Add the steak, cook until browned, and season.
- Spread refried beans over the huaraches. Top with the cooked steak.
- Shred Oaxaca cheese and sprinkle it over the steak. Melt by covering the griddle (2-3 min).
- Top with chopped lettuce, diced tomato, and chopped serrano pepper (optional). Drizzle with Mexican crema.
