Ingredients
- 2 pieces Chicken breast
- 12 pieces Corn tortillas
- 1 cup Neutral vegetable oil
- ½ piece Romaine lettuce
- ½ cup Mexican crema
- ¼ cup Queso fresco
- ½ piece White onion
- 1 clove Garlic
- Salt, to taste
- Black pepper, to taste
- Salsa verde (optional), to taste
Directions
- Boil the chicken breasts with a piece of onion and garlic until tender. Shred the chicken and season with salt and pepper.
- Warm the corn tortillas on a griddle to soften them. Fill each tortilla with shredded chicken and roll them tightly to form flautas.
- Heat neutral vegetable oil in a deep skillet over medium-high heat (180°C). Fry the flautas in batches, turning occasionally, until golden and crispy (approximately 3-4 minutes). Drain on paper towels.
- Finely grate the lettuce.
- Serve the crispy flautas, drizzle with Mexican crema, top with grated lettuce, and sprinkle with crumbled queso fresco. Optionally, add salsa verde.
