Ingredients
- 2 cups All-purpose flour
- ½ cup Sugar
- 1 pinch Salt
- 1 unit Egg
- 2 tablespoons Lard
- ½ cup Warm water
- 250 grams Piloncillo (Mexican brown sugar)
- 1 piece Cinnamon stick
- 500 ml Vegetable oil
Directions
- Mix flour, sugar, and salt. Add egg and lard, incorporate.
- Gradually add warm water until a soft dough forms. Knead for 5 minutes.
- Let the dough rest for 15 minutes.
- Heat piloncillo with cinnamon and 1 cup of water until dissolved. Strain.
- Roll out the dough very thin. Cut into circles or squares.
- Fry the buñuelos in hot oil until golden. Drain.
- Drench the hot buñuelos with the warm piloncillo syrup. Serve.
