Ingredients
- 250 grams Raw shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1 cup Fresh lime juice (about 10-12 limes)
- 3 pieces Fresh serrano chile, stemmed
- 1 piece Cucumber, peeled, seeded, and thinly sliced
- ½ piece Red onion, thinly julienned
- ¼ cup Fresh cilantro, chopped
- 1 to taste Salt
- ¼ tsp Freshly ground black pepper
Directions
- Prepare the shrimp: peel, devein, and cut in half lengthwise if large. Pat dry with paper towels.
- Juice 10-12 fresh limes into a glass bowl. Make sure no seeds fall in.
- Finely chop 3 serrano chiles, stemmed (adjust quantity for desired heat). Add the chopped chiles to the lime juice.
- Season the marinade with salt and freshly ground black pepper. Mix well.
- Submerge the shrimp in the lime and chile marinade, ensuring they are covered. Marinate in the refrigerator for 15-20 minutes, until the shrimp turn opaque and pinkish.
- Slice 1 cucumber thinly, removing seeds. Julienne ½ red onion thinly. Chop ¼ cup fresh cilantro.
- Lightly drain the marinated shrimp. Serve in a shallow bowl or glasses, topping with cucumber, red onion, and cilantro. Serve with tostadas.
