Ingredients
- 300 grams Chicken breast
- 1 piece Scallion (white and green parts)
- 4 tablespoons Soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons Mirin
- 2 tablespoons Sake
- 1 tablespoon Sugar
- ½ teaspoon Fresh ginger, grated
Directions
- Cut the chicken into 2-3 cm cubes and the scallion into pieces of the same size. Thread onto soaked wooden skewers, alternating chicken and scallion.
- Prepare the tare sauce by combining soy sauce, mirin, sake, sugar, and grated ginger in a pot. Cook over medium-low heat until the sugar dissolves and the sauce thickens slightly.
- Heat a grill or pan over medium-high heat. Grill the skewers until the chicken is browned.
- Glaze the skewers with the tare sauce using a brush. Cook for a few more minutes per side, turning and basting until the chicken is cooked and the sauce is caramelized.
- Remove from heat and serve immediately.
