Ingredients
- 500 grams ground beef
- 300 grams whole wheat pasta (penne or fusilli)
- 4 pieces roma tomatoes
- 1 piece onion
- 4 cloves garlic
- carrot, al gusto
- 1 cup dry white wine
- 2 tablespoons tomato paste
- 1 to taste oregano, bay leaf, salt, and pepper
- 1 tablespoons olive oil
Directions
- Sauté the finely chopped onion, garlic, and carrot in olive oil over medium heat for 8 minutes.
- Add the ground beef, season with salt and pepper, and brown for 10 minutes, breaking up lumps with a spatula.
- Deglaze the bottom of the pan with white wine, allowing the alcohol to evaporate for 3 minutes.
- Incorporate the peeled and crushed tomatoes along with the tomato paste.
- Adjust seasoning, cover, and cook over low heat (simmer) for 30 minutes.
- Cook the whole wheat pasta in plenty of salted water until al dente. Drain and add a drizzle of oil to prevent sticking.
- Store the sauce and pasta in separate airtight containers to preserve texture.
