Ingredients
- 2 units Large onions
- 1½ cups All-purpose flour
- ½ cup Cornstarch
- 1 teaspoon Baking powder
- 1 teaspoon Salt
- ½ teaspoon Ground black pepper
- 1 cup Whole milk
- 1 unit Large egg
- 4 cups Neutral vegetable oil (for frying)
Directions
- Cut the onions into 1 cm slices and separate the rings.
- In a bowl, mix 1.5 cups flour, 0.5 cup cornstarch, 1 tsp baking powder, 1 tsp salt, and 0.5 tsp black pepper.
- In another bowl, beat 1 egg with 1 cup milk.
- Dip each onion ring first in the dry mixture, then in the liquid, and finally back into the dry mixture.
- Heat 4 cups of oil to 180°C (350°F) and fry the rings in batches until golden and crispy.
- Drain on paper towels and serve hot.
