- 2 tablespoons Loose leaf jasmine tea
- 500 ml Hot water
- 100 ml Whole milk
- 1 teaspoon Ceremonial matcha powder
- 30 ml Cold water
- 2 tablespoons Sugar (optional)
- 1 cup Ice
Directions
- Infuse the jasmine tea: Combine 2 tablespoons of loose leaf jasmine tea with 500 ml of water at 80°C. Let steep for 5-7 minutes.
- Strain the tea and, if desired, dissolve 2 tablespoons of sugar in 100 ml of milk (preheat milk to make sugar dissolve easier).
- Mix the strained jasmine tea with the sweetened (or unsweetened) milk. Let cool to room temperature.
- Prepare the matcha: Sift 1 teaspoon of matcha into a bowl. Add 30 ml of cold water and whisk vigorously with a chasen until smooth and lump-free.
- Fill a tall glass with ice. Pour the jasmine tea and milk base to 2/3 of its capacity.
- Carefully pour the matcha mixture over the surface of the jasmine tea. Serve immediately with a wide straw.
