Ingredients
- 2 cups Plain Greek yogurt
- 1 large Cucumber
- 2 cloves Garlic
- 2 tablespoons Lemon juice
- 2 tablespoons Extra virgin olive oil
- 2 tablespoons Fresh dill
- 1 to taste Salt
- 1 to taste Black pepper
- 2 pieces Pita bread
Directions
- Grate the cucumber, remove the seeds if they are very large, and manually squeeze it with your hands to remove as much water as possible.
- Crush the garlic cloves until a fine paste is formed, ideally with a mortar, to enhance their flavor.
- Combine the Greek yogurt with the garlic paste, fresh lemon juice, and extra virgin olive oil, mixing well.
- Incorporate the grated and drained cucumber into the bowl with the yogurt. Add the finely chopped fresh dill.
- Season generously with sea salt and freshly ground black pepper. Mix and adjust the seasoning to taste.
- Heat the pita bread until lightly golden and flexible, ensuring they don't dry out.
- Present the tzatziki in a ceramic dish, drizzled with olive oil and garnished with dill. Serve immediately with the pita bread.
