Ingredients
- 2 cups Long-grain white rice
- 4 cups Water
- ½ cup chopped Fresh cilantro
- 2 cloves, finely minced Garlic
- 2 tablespoons Vegetable oil
- 1 teaspoon, or to taste Salt
Directions
- Rinse the long-grain rice under cold running water until the draining water is clear. Drain completely.
- Finely chop the garlic and cilantro. Reserve the chopped cilantro.
- Heat vegetable oil in a pot over medium heat. Sauté the chopped garlic for 30 seconds, until fragrant.
- Add the drained rice and lightly toast for 1-2 minutes, stirring constantly.
- Add the water and salt. Bring to a boil.
- Reduce the heat to low, cover the pot, and cook for 18 minutes without uncovering.
- Remove from heat, let rest covered for 5 minutes.
- Stir in the chopped cilantro and fluff the grains with a fork. Serve.
