Ingredients
- 2 cups Whole wheat flour (atta)
- ½ cup Plain unsweetened yogurt
- 1 teaspoon Active dry yeast
- 1 teaspoon Sugar
- 1 teaspoon Salt
- 4 cloves Finely minced garlic
- 2 tablespoons Fresh cilantro, chopped
- 2 tablespoons Ghee (clarified butter)
- ½ cup Warm water
Directions
- Activate the yeast with warm water and sugar. Let stand until foamy.
- Combine the flour (atta) and salt in a large bowl. Make a well in the center.
- Add the activated yeast and yogurt to the well. Mix until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Let the dough rise in a greased and covered bowl, in a warm place, for 1-1.5 hours.
- Prepare the garlic and cilantro topping by mixing chopped garlic, fresh cilantro, and melted ghee.
- Degas the risen dough and divide it into 2 portions.
- Roll out each portion to a thickness of 0.5 cm.
- Preheat the oven to 220°C (425°F) with a baking sheet or pizza stone inside.
- Transfer the naans to the hot sheet and bake for 5-7 minutes until browned.
- Brush with the garlic and cilantro mixture immediately after baking. Serve hot.
